Janine’s Personal Blog – April 2017

April is always a month of mixed emotions and celebrations and general chaos.  It has been 10 years this month since my Mum passed away, a soul taken too early.  It was my birthday earlier in the month and of course 2 weeks of school holidays – with Easter in the middle!  I have the standard struggle of trying to juggle working and being with the kids, but this holiday we seemed to make it relatively unscathed.  I wasn’t hugely productive but something I can’t beat myself up about.

My word of the year is transformation and this month put the wheels well and truly into motion for the start of a huge transformation.  Mid-month, my current landlords served notice on the house I live in.  Once again, my world was tipped upside down and we face the prospect of moving AGAIN!  Initially, the fear kicks in, where, how, what about this, what about that?!  My brain went into meltdown but only briefly.  A huge sense of relief, calmness and possibilities opened up.  The reality was, I was in a house too big, too expensive and very challenging to manage.  This was something I should have put into action months ago, clearly, it’s now time.

Over the next 6 weeks we are planning our move, whilst keeping things as stable as possible for Abi who is finishing off her A Levels.  Look out for more updates next month as the transformation begins to unravel.

The sun is still shining, May is upon us and the journey and transformation continues. My overall goals for 2017 are now forming part of my everyday routine:

  • Silence
  • Affirmations
  • Visualisation
  • Exercise
  • Reading
  • Scribing

However, my specific goals for May are:

  • Support Abi through her final weeks of school
  • Sort my house out ready for a move – downsizing and clearing out
  • Sort out Asana (our productivity tool) as I have fallen behind
  • Start writing our first e-book
  • Get my personal blogging back on track and wrap up my accounts
  • Update my website and LinkedIn profile and all my personal social media channels

How was your April?  Share in the comments box below.

Live, love and laugh (and embrace the change)
