Female Business Interview with Orlaith Brogan
Tell us a bit about your business
I help women build the business of their dreams, gain confidence in what they offer and learn to sell (themselves and their business) in a way that feels authentic to them.
What inspired you to start it?
Both my parents were self-employed so I grew up with business owners. I saw how much flexibility you got from running your own business but I also saw how hard it was for business owners to ensure their business succeeded. I realised early on that talent in your chosen area is only a small part of success and the most important element in business success is sales and marketing. Without sales and marketing – you do not have a business. Most business owners choose their business because it is where their talent lies and learning how to sell does not come naturally. I want to help them feel comfortable marketing themselves and in sales situations.
My parents were my inspiration but the trigger to start my own business came when I met my fiancé and realised that in order to live the life that we want – running my own business is essential.
What is your career background?
I worked in the property industry and business development for almost 10 years before completing a number of coaching qualifications.
What is your vision for your business?
The goal for my business is to help 100,000 women to create the life and business of their dreams in a way that feels authentic to them.
How do you maintain a good work/life/family balance?
Both my fiancé and I are very busy and spend a lot of time working. It is essential that we have our ‘couple’ time. We go on date nights each week and also do fun things together like trampolining.
What was your light bulb moment? When did you realise you wanted to be an entrepreneur/business owner?
My light bulb moment was building up over time! I always felt that I wanted to run my own business but it was simmering away under the surface. The light bulb finally switched on when my partner and I created a vision for our dream life
and we realised we wanted a better life than the one a life of full time employment would allow.
What lessons have you learned along the way?
Go easy on yourself!
Take your time
Learn every day
Take action every day.
Focus on your consumer and ensure that you offer something that is really valuable to them.
What has surprised you about owning your own business?
How vulnerable you are. Yes, it is incredibly rewarding but you are opening yourself up to lots of uncomfortable moments and nothing prepares you for that.
Who and what inspires you?
My friends and family all inspire me. I know that by building a better life- they will all benefit and that spurs me on.
Do you have a daily routine or rituals you do?
I get up early and set my alarm for 5.00 am each morning. I read, create content and update my social media. I find I get much more done early morning and this frees up time in the rest of the day to meet friends and live my life.
What obstacles have you had along the way?
The main obstacle to my success has been me! I work really hard at keeping myself motivated (through what I watch and listen to) so that I condition myself to keep going and not to give in. Sometimes I just want to watch TV all day, not work on building my business and eat junk food. Like everyone, I have to catch myself and ensure that I get back on track and regain momentum. It’s hard!
What is one thing you wish you’d known when you first started?
That what others think doesn’t matter. They aren’t even thinking about you so don’t waste time worrying about them.
Tell us your favorite tools that make your life easier (apps, websites, software etc.)
YouTube- always listening to motivational people
Canva- and pic monkey to create my graphics
Audible- for my motivational books to keep me on track.
What is your favourite quote?
‘Just do it’

As a successful, Sales and Business Coach I work with solopreneurs and women who run small businesses who want to:
• Be clear about what they want for and from their business
• Feel comfortable raising their rates and confident in what they charge
• Stop missing out on sales because they’re too embarrassed to promote themselves, or follow up with potential clients
• Say goodbye to confusion, frustration and the little voice in their head that whispers ‘you can’t do this’
• Market their business creatively and in ways that make the most of their strengths
• Learn how to sell without feeling fake, pushy or overbearing
• I believe it’s totally possible to build a business you love that gives you the lifestyle you want without having to run yourself ragged.
When you have the right mindset, skills and knowledge you’ll save time, money and be able to put your ideas into action.
